Setup, fixes and FAQ in one place

Please install the following applications. You can find the download links in the Discord channel.

1. Open the Nova Launcher app.
2. Customize the settings according to your preferences. We recommend downloading a desktop backup from our Discord server to quickly set up your desktop.
3. Open Nova Desktop, scroll to the bottom, and tap the tick icon.
4. Long-press on the desktop and tap Nova Settings.
5. Click Home Screen and disable the Dock.
6. Set Search bar placement to None.
7. Ensure Wallpaper scrolling is enabled.
8. Set Transition effect to None and Page indicator to None.
9. Go back, use the search feature to find Force wallpaper scrolling, and enable it.
10. Remove the desktop apps.
11. Finally, set Nova Desktop as the default.

Since the SILK UI theme requires four screens, please add screens until you have the required number.

1. Open KLWP.
2. Follow the prompts to complete its requirements. Choose a folder as your working directory according to your preference.
3. Once you've found your UI theme, click on it and wait for it to load.
4. Grant the necessary permissions when prompted.
5. Set it as your wallpaper. You may encounter some errors, but you can ignore them and set it as your wallpaper directly.
6. Click the save icon.
7. Return to your desktop and wait for it to load.

1. Open KLWP.
2. Turn on Autostart.
3. Click on Permissions and turn on Dynamic wallpaper services.
4. Change Battery saver to No restrictions.

1. Find a random picture and set it as wallpaper.
2. Turn on Scrolling.

1. Change the Home Screen to with app drawer.
2. Turn off Place new apps on the Home screen.
3. Turn off App vault.
4. Turn off Home screen search bar.
5. Turn on Don't show text.
6. Remove all widgets and apps.

1. Use KWGT to add blank widgets.
2. Ensure the number of pages on your home screen matches the requirements of your UI theme.
3. Add a blank widget for each page.
4. Click on the widget and create it.
5. Click on Touch to remove the action.

1. Open KLWP and follow the prompts to set it up.
2. Choose a folder to save data for KLWP.
3. Click on the UI theme you have purchased.
4. Click on Fix Now and turn on the required permissions.
5. Set it as wallpaper.
6. Turn on Use direct touch to enable button clicks on the bottom bar.

3. Single-tap on the wallpaper folder (the path may vary in some UI).
4. Choose your favorite wallpaper.
5. Save.

4. Choose the avatar you want to change.

Kustom is running only when you are looking at it and even when active it updates once every second so it's a lot different from standard live wallpapers which do 60 frame per second animations and sometimes also run in background. On top of that, Kustom will never update unless strictly necessary (if you are not scrolling or data is not changing). This of course applies to the wallpaper, the editor is a different story since it needs some CPU to show you the changes while doing them so it will use some battery if you edit your template a lot. If you want to have details on how it works, I suggest using BetterBatteryStats. You will then have detailed info on the battery usage of the wallpaper (org.kustom.service) and the editor (org.kustom.wallpaper).

If you are using Nova Launcher:
Nova Settings > Home Screen > Wallpaper Scrolling > "On"
Nova Settings > Tap on the Search icon > Search for "Force Wallpaper Scrolling" > "On"
